Maintenance
1. Conveyor: Often the pit is not clean,
leading to premature wear on the
rollers, chain, and sprockets. Also, not
keeping the components at the right
tension leads to wear.
2. Bearings: They can often see two
extremes; either over-greasing or
under-greasing and both can lead to
premature failure.
3. Cloth not being kept clean and not
being replaced when it gets too short.
4. Nozzles not being replaced when
they are worn causes increased water
and chemical usage.
5. Air pressure being set too high or low
causes operational problems.
6. Chemical applications not foaming
and lubricating the vehicles properly.
7. Electrical components; not having
motors tested and connections tight-
ened annually by an electrician.
8.Belts not being kept tight and
checked for wear.
9.Replacing filters and checking
hoses for potential weak spots in the
hydraulic system.
10. Last but not least, maintaining the
overall appearance of the equipment
and tunnel area, including walls and
windows.
